Our Goals:

  • To provide a Christian summer camp opportunity for children ages 23 – 30 who need special assistance which can’t be provided in other camps
  • To provide respite for parents and siblings.
  • To provide a humbling and growing experience of Christian community to the staff.

SEEK Camp is a non-denominational Christian camp experience sponsored by the North Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church. Children’s Camp is held at Bridgeport Camp and Conference Center. This 5 day, 4 night camp is composed of approximately 60 campers. The campers exhibit a wide variety of abilities.

The campers enjoy daily activities of arts and crafts, music, recreation, swimming and worship. In addition, each evening includes special activities talent shows, a dance and other fun filled events.

Daily Schedule

  • 8:30 Breakfast
  • 9:30 Music, Arts and Crafts, and Recreation
  • 12:00 Lunch
  • 1:00 Rest time
  • 3:15 Swim time
  • 5:00 Showers
  • 6:00 Dinner
  • 7:00 Evening Activity
  • 8:00 Worship
  • 9:00 Bed Time

The cost of SEEK Camp, which is stated above, includes a camp T-Shirt. Camper acceptance is based on a first come first serve basis after needs are assessed. It is very important to apply early, as a waiting list is common for camp. All first time campers and their parents will complete a phone or face to face interview with the camp director and nurse prior to acceptance.

The all volunteer staff is made up of three camp directors, two registered nurses, a camp pastor, 60 cabin counselors as well as recreation, music and art coordinators. All staff complete an in-service training, application and background check.

Counselors are paired with one camper each day. The needs of the campers vary from just hanging out to taking care of their most personal needs. A counselor is someone who is mature, has a heart for serving and is willing to put the world aside for one week and devote themselves to serve their camper no matter what the cost. 118 hours can be applied toward community service hours for school districts that encourage service to the community. Youth counselors must be involved in a local church (of any denomination) and have a church ministry staff listed on their application. Cost for counselors is paid in total by the churches of the North Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church.
